no sound, no ethernet, no drivers
Hello,
I just received my friends old computer and it was so bogged down and filled up I decided it was best to just wipe the HD with the windows XP installation CD and reinstall windows. Only problem is (thought of this after the fact), now I have no sound drivers (and it says I have no card too, or it can't find it), and I don't have an ethernet controller either. In device manager there are a few yellow question marks, one is for Multimedia Audio Controller, and one is for Ethernet Controller. I have NO drivers at all for them. I am sure the sound card is onboard the motherboard, though I dont know what it is. So I'm stuck and don't know what to do to get my sound to work (or my ethernet card to be recognized either). (I have no internet on the new comp obviously, so I'm using my laptop to do all this searching)
I used the Blearc program on the new comp and it says it can't find any multimedia devices, however, my motherboard is...
MICRO STAR INC. MS-6728 2.00
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. V3.A
Chipset is: Intel 2570 rev 2
Using XP home, out of the box, no service packs.
Where can I go to get the right drivers so that the computer sees the sound card, and has the right drivers to operate? (I can't find the ethernet card either, so I think that's onboard too?) Thanks a lot for any timely response
Joe, in OK.
