No Multimedia Audio Controller - Realtek AC97

I'm new at this - might have posted incorrectly by replying to another thread instead of starting a new one - so I'm re-posting here as well.

Since downloading on 6-14 the student version of AutoCAD Electrical 2007 from the Autodesk site (which included concurrent Direct x 9.0 and Realtek Audio AC 97 Audio downloads), I have no sound, including no computer sound effects, and get two messages on startup:

1-There is no sound recording capabilities for Skype, and
2- Found hardware wizard that can't find the Multimedia Audio Controller.

-The Device Manager also says there is none detected (Yellow next to Multimedia Audio Controller).

-Checked the Realtek site and there doesn't seem to be a download for WinXP.

-Also did the Windows troubleshooting to no avail.

-Tried restoring the system to two days ago restore point and it said it couldn't do it so that my computer is still unchanged.

-The AutoCAD download took three times to finally download so maybe something got messed up in the process. I'm trying to avoid having to uninstall it since it took so long to finally get through.

Also did a Spybot check and have Norton AV with regular updates.

(Tried three times to download EverestUltimate from softpedia but it said the file was incomplete.) Was able to download the Belarc program though.
Below is some info on my computer from that.

Any suggestions on what to do? Would much appreciate some direction!

no

OK. I looked up my model on the Powerspec site. It says the "system board" is Biostar i945G-M7. Does that sound right?

I tried installing the driver from the Realtek site and got the message:

"No Driver or AP was supported in this driver package."
