Thumbs down "No Audio Device" after reformatting for a new HD

Hello,

I had a corrupt HD and had to get a new one. After installing the new HD I then had to reformat my computer. Then after getting things, like games, that I already had on my computer I came to realize that there was no audio. I went to the control panel, audio area, and it claimed that I have no audio device. I know I have one because it is Realtek AC 97. I had the drivers and everything right before the reformat. I have tried to reinstall the drivers but it is not working. I even looked on previous threads in this very forum and found no solution that worked specifically for my computer. Here is some specs that may help:

AMD Athlon 64 (64-bit technology)

Nvidia GeForce 6100 Series

Hope this information can help you help me. I'm very thankful for your help ahead of time, even if you can't solve my problem. Thanks big for trying.

Go here and install the System drivers ( Chipset ) then restart your comp, then install Realtek audio drivers

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions
