Question

Few things to do:

1) Check all physical connections in computer.

2) In Windows, go to Task Manager and select Performance tab. Check it's performance.

3) In Windows, go to Control Panel => Administrative Tools => Event Viewer. Check through the logs and see if any error messages appeared in relation to the problem.

Hope this helps.

Yes, there are loads of errors. Here is what they all say.

Subprocess monitoring failed due to subprocess is no longer active. The subprocess is probably dead. Restarting the process. Error detail: Overlapped I/O operation is in progress.
That is under APPLICATION

Under SYSTEM
The Serv-U FTP Server service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specifie

Now what?

Try this first:-
Start==>Run, Type (without the quotes) "cmd.exe"
Type (no quotes ) "chkdsk C: /F"
Watch the syntax!

I tried to answer but my computer was shutting off in the middle of my posts.

I restored my computer using RESTORE back to a few weeks ago and it stopped. I had used CClean a few days ago and I bet it removed a file I needed. Anyway, that fixed the problem. Thanks for your help.

I fixed the crashes by using Restore and restored my computer to what it was a few weeks ago and it seems ok now.

Unhappy

My computer is STILL shutting down. I went to Administration Tools, and under applications found a million errors. Some of the errors mention something called Fire Daemon and the other message says: Subprocess monitoring failed due to subprocess is no longer active, the subprocess is probably dead.

What should I do?

Read this link. It explains the firedaemon problem. Try running a registry checker/fixer like this one.

I have CCleaner and I did run it.
That may be the problem. It may have deleted something I needed.
There are two other options on that software but I'm afraid to use them.
One is "Issues" the other is "Tools". I could really screw things up by using them if I don't know what I'm doing.

I have backed up all my files and as a last resort will do a recovery but I hate to do it if I don't have to because putting everything back on will be such a pain.

Do you think I picked up spyware or a virus? I ran both checkers and they come up clean.

Issues is safe to use, it give syou an option to back up your existing registry before it makes any changes.
