I have reformated and clean installed Windows XP to my PC, "
TravelMate 270".
I get scratchy/crackling sound all the time, when I play mp3, music CDs, movie files, etc. Before clean installing Windows XP, my PC's audio was perfect.
This is what I've done so far. Nothing has worked and still getting scratchy sound.
- Reformatting and Installing Windows XP again
- Installed Windows XP as "Standard PC" instead of ACPI PC
- Downloaded latest driver softwares from Acer, Sis, and tried Realteck
- Disabled any ports which are not in use
- Installed external/usb sound card. sk-8 from sinovoice. Scratchy sound even I set sk-8 as default.
- Played music with headphones on
Thank you for reading and helping.
