Angry Typing Delay with XP

Occasionally I am having a problem when typing. I can be in any application, messenger, Outlook, word, etc. There is a long hesitation when nothing appears on the screen, then after about 30 secs it all appears at once. When using messenger it is extremely frustrating. Once I get it working o.k. I don't shut down my computer, however, if I download something new, I have to reboot and it starts all over. I have to keep shutting down the computer until it is fixed. Last time, 5 tries! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

this problem can be caused by the lack of resources that your computer has, it is a common error

try not opening as many programs then trying to see if it works

if not i would get a new keyboard or call up a local computer tech!

typing delay

my cpu does the same thing + one. it will start typing on its own. that is why this message looks so stupid. any suggestions? its very hard to type because i have to wait for what i type to appear then i may have to delete some of it because it decided type along with me.
i do have a virus scanner i am using wireless keyboard and mouse that ill remove to see if that will correct the prob.

Have you tried increasing your RAM? (To 128 MB or above)

This is a nice article:

Delayed Typing Issue

Thank you so much, I turned off speech recognition and so far this seems to have solved the problem. Although as I type this there seems to be a bit of a hesitation.....
