Help! I'm undergoing a Trojan/Outerinfo attack

I thought I cleared it out of my system but I guess not. System Restore will not work for me right now but I'm getting tons of errors and Internet Explorer pop-ups while running Mozilla Firefox and a bunch of other stuff! Help me get rid of this! It's the Outerinfo virus and I originally got it when It told me I needed to install ActiveXPicture something. Help!

It's trying to change my connections as well so I can't connect to the Internet.

Thumbs up Give this a go...

Recommend downloading AVG antivirus, install and run a scan. That should pick up the virus for you to delete it from the system.

You can download AVG from the link below.

It seems like I can get rid of these viruses/spyware/malware/trojans/whatever now but when I reboot Windows, these bad processes run again.

Ok first start your PC in safe mode an run a full scan in safe mode. After that I would download and install superantispyware http://www.superantispyware.com/
Also start in safe mode and run full scan.
Can you make a system restore point b4 staring these scans? If not I would be backing up all your important docs ect.

Ok, first, I suggest plugging the hole before mopping up the water.

I notice you use firefox, so you probably have little use for IE
what you want to do, is go into IE, go to tools > settings > internet options > lan settings. while there, you will see some proxy settings, check the little box that says something about using your own proxy, or watever to activate the shaded portion.
now, type "fakeproxy" into the box that was unlocked, and set it to have IE run through that. this will disable anything from getting through IE, including spyware, and trojans. the popups till taper off over time, and in a few weeks, IE will be giving you no more problems.

if you have any programs that run through IE's proxy, it will be disabled as well. fortunately, the task is easily undone.
