Unhappy XP boot hanger

Since some time, my XP Prof often has problems to boot. Following entry of the password, startup seems to work normal - one gets the start-up screen and melody. But then it quite often hangs and the screen remains blue as it was just following entry of the PW. This is one place were the hanger occurs. The only remedy then is the reset button.

Following this reset, the system boots again, I enter the password and quite often, it now hangs at a later stage: The startbar now displays, but the auto-start items on its right side remain incomplete - expecially, the Kaspersky Antivirus 6.0 Icon does not show, also a text is displayed on the start screen telling its up. Again, the hanger can be terminated with the reset only. The system then starts up a third time - this time successfully. It never happend so far, that more than tree attempts were required to bring the system up. But quite often, it comes up with no or just one hanger.

I have cleaned the registry with Fix My Registr 2.2 It did not help. What else could be done to fix the problem.
Best regards Roberto
