Automatic Antivirus self installed!!

I was searching for info online when an automatic 'windows anti virus' started self installing. Seems I was dumb to use ctrl alt del. Now my computer will not take me past the 'welcome' screen as XP tries to start up. Please help.

Have you tried starting in safe mode and while in safe mode run a full Virus scan.
