Hello. Hey bookworm, I’m in a bit of a fix. What I’m trying to do is update the bios/drivers/etc. for my brother’s motherboard and since it’s the same sort of problem I thought you might be able to give me a hand. Unfortunately it is an ASUSTeK Board and I don't have the patience to spend any more time than i already have looking for updates, if there are any. Here is the pertinent Belarc info for his comp.

System Model
Windows XP Home Edition (build 2600)
HP Pavilion 05 P9859A-ABA 533W 3001211RE101ECHO
System Serial Number: MX24510177 NA800
Enclosure Type: Mini-Tower
Processor a Main Circuit Board b
2.00 gigahertz Intel Celeron
8 kilobyte primary memory cache
128 kilobyte secondary memory cache
Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P4G533LA REV 1.xx
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: Award Software, Inc. 3.02 08/27/2002

I'd appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.

unless the comp is very bad, I would not update the BIOS unless absolutely necessary , the graphic card I'm not sure about because the section of the report is missing

HP are pretty useless, and as the board is a dummy name given by HP it's a problem using Asus, most important is the chipset, get that here from Intel http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...nal& lang=eng

other drivers here at HP
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...ro duct=90862

audio is realtek get it here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false
