W32time error with fs2004..VERY annoying

so about 4 months ago my pc just went wack and almost nothing worked anymore. Even when trying to open the control panel the computer would freeze and had to be restarted. Fs 2004 would make the computer reboot and it was working perfectly before. We got new memory, graphics card, and cleaned it and everything. It started working again except when fs2004 ran it just reboot the computer about 10 seconds into the game and it still does this. Also frequently the computer would reboot when windows media player was used. Turning off automatic restart didnt do anything either. Over the months ive tested the memory and the cpu both of which are fine. So yesterday we reformatted the hard drive to start all over again. The computer is flawless now MUCH faster than before and control panel works and so does windows media player. But when trying to insall fs2004 it rebooted again. the event viewer said w32time error and also cdrom error.?? im just baffled. Only thing i can think of to fix it is a new power supply

Hi Peter,

When you say it turns off, can it come back on straight away or does it stay off for a period of time?

Over the months ive tested the memory and the cpu both of which are fine
If they're both fine, it could be your graphics card, is it onboard or a PCi card? Have you tried to put it in to another PCI slot (Just to test?)

it stays off. The graphics card we bought is an nvidia 6200 but weve had the power supply unit for many years...

If it stays off, then your machine is over heating, I'd say it's your graphic card that's faulty (Had a similar issue with an Advent PC) and it's VGA blew on me, with the same game you mentioned. I installed it fine, started to play it, bang it went off. Turned on the PC, played it again, 20 seconds or so and it went off again, so got it exchanged.

Have both your PSU and GFX checked out and replaced if necessary.

well what do you mean when it goes off? Cuz nothing really goes off it just reboots. What graphics card do you have now that works with fs2004?

I meant, does your PC Turn off, or shut down.

I'd try and get your Graphics card tested out. Try another high graphics style game and see if this makes a difference. If it's the same issue, then it's clearly your card that has an issue.

sorry to bring this back up!

well lately now the computer has been restarting itself often---maybe 1-2 times per day. FS isn't even installed anymore. So this weekend I'm going to get a new power supply and see if anything changes :/ I don't think its the graphics card because I've tried 2 others and it still restarted. So this is my last hope to get fs back running
