Can't Play Embedded Web Sounds

I hope someone here can help me. I just got XP today and downloaded the SP1 and installed it. Everything is working fine with ONE exception:

Whenever I go to any web page with embedded sounds, they won't play. All other sounds play fine.

I have a check mark next to play sounds in web pages under the advanced tab of Internet Options, but still no embedded midi files will play.

TIA for any help
