Internet Explorer Windows won't close

I am having a prolem with my internet explorer. When I try to close a window I click on the red X and just get a beep sound. I can minimize the window just not close it. When I Right click on the minimized window it just beeps as well. When I reboot, everything is fine for a time but the problem reappears. At the point where this happens it also seems like the IE window is hung up as well, although I am not quite certain if this is always true.

I am running up to date versions of XP Professional and Internet explorer. I am not home now but will can get the exact version numbers if needed. I also have up to date Norton Antivirus and spysweeper running, full scans on both show no problems. Also scanned computer with housecall.trendmicro.com beta version software and it did not find any problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Internet Explorer sucks. Install Firefox.

yeah i have 3 years to use internet explorer and i don't get any problems with firefox

Firefox will give you less issues but if you must use IE, here are some tips:
