I have this problem with a couple of things. I just got this new game called evidence the lost ritual. I have never had any problems with any of my games before. I installed the game and now it won't turn on. The game says macromedia projector error. The game won't run. Another error I am getting is it wants quicktime 6 in qtime directory. I have never had a problem with quicktime, but now I do. I have quicktime 7. So I do not understand this. I tired updating my video card, java, shockwave, flashplayer , and quick time. Still no go. I need ur help this is driving me crazy!
I was having the same problem. The problem is not Macromedia Projector, but how quicktime 7.0 relates to such. The only way I got around to fixing this is by opening the Quicktime Player > Edit > Quicktime Preferences > Advanced > and under Video Change from DirectX to Safe Mode (GDI).
I had the problem come up again and I had to uninstall 7.0 and install 6.52. I then did the same procedure in 6.52 by opening the Quicktime Player > Edit > Quicktime Preferences > and under Video Settings change from DirectX to Safe Mode (GDI)
Well some of the problem comes from the NVIDIA Nview Software, because instead of changing the VIDEO SETTINGS to (SAFE MODE (GDI ONLY)) in 6.52. I just UNCHECKED Enable DirectDraw On Secondary Monitors and left the rest of the settings the same under OPTIONS. Going to check some of other settings. You must close quicktime to test these settings, because there is no APPLY button in 6.52.
I believe I can update back to 7.0 and it will still work. Thanks
