Windows Media Audio on WMP10 not working

Compaq Presario S4100NX
Windows XP Home Edition SP2
Windows Media Player 10

Whenever I try to play .wmv files with Windows Media Audio V7 or V8, I can't hear anything. I've tried re-installing WMP but that did nothing. Does anyone know any codecs I can use so I am able to get some sound from WMA V7/V8 files?

hi, You peope have to give a little of the basics. We are not mind readers. That said..... Did sound work before? Is it a sound card or is it integrated? Have you tested the sound by going into control panel- opening sound, etc., When we have this, we will stand a better chance of helping you. Tks Lenny Good Luck.
