Sony Vegas Rendering Power loss

First off, these are my specs:

-Windows XP
-AMD 4200 X2
-nVidia 8800 GT
-1GB (2 512s) OCZ Ultra High Performance RAM
-ASUS A8N-VM Motherboard
-Samsung 120GB HD
-OCZ Gamestream 600 WATT PSU

My problem is that when I try to render a video using Sony Vegas, no matter what the size, it will get to about 60-70% and then my computer will just loose power and turn right off. No shut down, just a power loss. I JUST replaced my power supply 4 days ago because I thought that might be the source of the problem and it clearly isn't. Also, immediatly after it happened, I rebooted and went into my BIOS to check my temperatures and everything was A-OK. I've changed my PSU and graphics card in the last 2 weeks. What should I do? I have to fix this.

sony vega

hi, I am assuming that this sony vega worked before on your system? I would run check disk and then defrag. Also you have 1 gig memory--is it all working? I would think you use a lot of memory when running this editing program. Is ther a way to pause this program when you get to 50%(or so) snd look at how much memory is free. I think you are probably running low. Why don't you run a diagnostic on your memory........1. go to www.microsoft.com 2.search for " memory diagnostic" 3. ms online crash analysis $. download win memory diagnostic. Download to diskette. Set up your bios to boot from diskette first. It will boot do this dos diag. This just may be a memory prob. You can also remove one of your memory modules. I believe you have 2. Good luck ..Lenny

It's been a long time since I used Sony Vegas. It's a "prosumer" video editing/encoding app. Yes, it'll use a lot of memory, particularly for non-linear editing. That's the first thing I'd check, as per the previous post. Good luck.

Hi, I would say I had the same problem............Well kind of, My computer did the same thing when ever it took the load. Ok, try to uninstall realtek AC97 audio and download the lateast version and install it. It worked for me and I never had that problem since then.

Note: You woun't be able to hear any thing untill u reinstall Reltek AC97 audio driver.
