Angry this is driving me nutty!!!!

I have a 40 GB hard drive and have bought an 80GB to add to it. I have set the 80GB as a slave and it is recognised as a slave on initial start up. However xp does not recognise it and if I boot the PC in DOS and run FDISK, the drive is still not recognised. Please help!!!

Many thanks

JOHN

Hi Stud Muffin, assuming you have it set up correctly, try booting with a XP Boot Disk and running FDISK from there.

Good Luck,

Steve.

Whats the brand of drive?

If its Maxtor, d/l Maxblast 3 .

Most drive manufacturers have a utility to prep a drive for install.
