Downgrading to xp from vista, sound problems

Hi, I have a Gateway MT6457 notebook computer and I decided it was finally time to "upgrade" to vista. I formatted and managed to get all the drivers downloaded except for the audio driver. I have no sound! I have tried searching everywhere for a driver that will work but no luck so far. I was wondering if anyone has found a way around this yet or a solution to the problem. By the way, I have a cracked version of xp w/ no updates but I am planning on buying xp if I can get the audio to work. Please help me! I really don't want to go back to vista

The XP driver is available from Gateway, so get XP then we can link you to the driver.If you choose the classic view Vista is more like XP
