Missing Drivers Under 'Other Devices'... Need Help Fast!
So my mother bought a new computer pre-installed with Vista Home... to make a long story short, while trying to set up her high speed internet, I had to install Windows XP. Now I'm stuck because I have all sorts of missing drivers under my Other Devices.
Link to the specs of Ma's computer.
The devices I need drivers for:
Ethernet Controller
PCI Device
PCI Simple Communication Controller
SM Bus Controller
USB Controller
Video Controller (VGA)
I don't know if you need more information. If so, I'll have to get it in the morning. Will greatly appreciate your help! Dad is having a fit!  |

Okay, I will try that tomorrow and bring the results here. Is there a specific website to look for the drivers at? I can probably solve the rest if I know where to look. ^^;

It may give the motherboard, if it shows ECS then these are the board drivers http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Dow...uID=39&LanID=8
IDE is the Chipset driver
All drivers are at nVidia except the audio,
The main thing to check is the Chipset driver, if it shows nVidia geForce 6150SE the motherboard is a MCP61PM-AM then it is this driver http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_....26_11.09.html
this driver will install all the missing drivers as they are all in the chipset.
audio is Realtek HD go here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false

Hi there. I have lost these three things under "Other Devices" since putting XP OS on my desktop. Thank you in advance for any help offered.

that is a full report of my computer please let me know what i need to do i have the same problem all the devices in the other section dont work as well as the eternet and usb dont work please help i need to fix this computer for work

go here to Nvidia and install the Chipset driver - then restart your comp

the SM bus. Ethernet and USB will corrected with this installation
your model only has Vista drivers at HP
post back if anything else is missing
Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions
