Wireless Lan Card.. Please help me..

Hello,

I recently reinstalled Windows XP on my other computer which uses a wireless connection to connect to the internet. (The computer connects to this one.. I think)

I reinstalled the wireless card with the CD and it just shows up saying "Wireless Lan Card - Does not exsist" when I hover my mouse over it.

Is there anyone that can help me with this problem ?

My BUS and PCI device's all show up as not working either in the Device Manager..

The card shows up on Everest as:
Network Adapter 802.11b WLAN PCI

I would appreciate your help alot..

Does your WLAN card show up in Device Manager? under network adapters, or other hardware?

After you've connected the hardware, try to go through Control Panel -> Add New Hardware -> select "I've already connected my hardware." and follow the steps, it should get recognized. To see if your PC does see the card, right click My Computer -> go to the Hardware tab -> click Device Manager and you should see your card under Network Adapters either with or without a yellow "!" mark, as Kevin said in the above post.

If the yellow "!" mark is by the device, the PC doesn't recognize the device and you will need to install the drivers for it. Right clicking the device and selecting 'Update Driver' should do the trick once you have the driver, you can get the driver from the manufacturer's website or from a CD which came with the card itself.

Goodluck

I have added the Network Adapter through Add Hardware but the only thing that I can install for it is "Microsoft Loop Adapter" ... Nothing else shows up!

Any suggestions.. ?
