no sound
Hi all - i'd really appreciate some help with this - i've read all the similar posts i can find but i still can't fix my no sound problem.
motherboard - ECS 761GX-M754-964
chipset - SiS 761GX
southbridge - Sis 964
Multimedia Audio Controller is flagged yellow in the device manager and driver status for this reads Code 28 - The drivers for this device are not installed. Ihave tried installing realtek drivers and motherboard drivers. none of them install correctly and now i'm totally confused. please help me....!!

These are your motherboard drivers, audio is ADI http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Pro...nuID=7&LanID=8
Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

I have the same problem and have tried everything I can think of. I have tried installing the audio drivers for my motherboard website and from SIS but no joy I really hope you can help me

Is your comp a Packard Bell model.can you Get Belarc, copy and paste the report, omit the Software section, it gives Product Codes for your OS and the Windows Critical Updates.If it is a Packard Bell the audio driver could be a different one, but belarc will give the clues
