A year with no sound

Hello, Please help. Have a Time 'Collosus' Laptop and been without sound since formating the C drive a year ago. Multimedia Audio Controller shows yellow triangle. Need to find driver but have no idea which one....
Running XP Pro 2002 service pack 2 with AVG as my virus guard.

ok get a app call cpuz here is the link http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php this will give you the motherboard model etc..then you can find the audio drivers for it. reply with the motherboard name and model ..if you can find the drivers.

ok your have AC97 onboard audio,,heres the link for drivers..i would guess you have hd audio codecs ,,if not download the standard AC97 codec drivers. http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/
