Slow Internet startup then....

Hello Friends,

My system seems to be slowing down at startup when trying to access the internet. After I turn on my computer, it seems to take 15 to 25 minutes before things seem to speed up on the internet.

I am running IE7, Windows XP Pro and my system is a duel core Amd 2.6 with 2 gig of ram. The speed is definately there as you can see. I hit control - alt - delete to make sure nothing else is running in the background that might be causing the slow-down, but it just shows the internet connection.

I tried running WinPatrol and that shows a lot of things running in the background but how do I know if they are needed or not? Or on a side note, could it be my DSL modem?

Is the slowness just your internet connection? is the Pc slow over all?

The slowness is just the internet connection.

This could be a number of things, spyware, viruses, poor internet connection / signal.
You could try and swap test your dsl modem for another and see if this helps, also contact your ISP and see what they say (They may accuse your PC of being the problem, argue the fact it isn't)
