No sound on reformatted laptop =(

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not be functioning properly" is whats coming up when I try to play music. I cannot find any sound card devices listed upon device manager except for Audio Codecs and Legay Codecs etc which I tried to update driver and theres none. I used Belarc Advisor and this is what comes up...:
Main Cirucuit Board:
Board: Sony Corporation Q-Project 01
Bus Clock: 133 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies LTD R0060X6 09/09/2005

Multimedia

None detected

Thanks in advance ~

This basically means your sound card isn't being detected by Windows.

Check BIOS to see if it's enabled, or check Sony again to find the correct driver

Okay, I basically installed every single possible driver that would fix this problem and in BIOS, there is nothing that sets sound card or anything, so I am pretty ticked off atm... >_<... system sound works but no music playing programs nor games work... any more suggestions?

System sound works? Do you mean when the machine boots up you get the Windows music?
