how to remove OS?

Ok
I hope this is a simple question. I started with a WIN 98
OS on my machine. I installed a WIN 2k (FAT32) syatem
I guess , keeping the old. The Win 2k would get to
the "starting windows" and continually reboot.
So I botched the install.
Next I reinstalled Win2K and said to repair OS.
I wound up with a new Win2K installed (Which Works).

Now when I boot I get a choice window

WIN 2K Professional
WIN 2K Professional
Win 98 SE

The first one works
the second one continually reboots
the Win 98 works.

How do I selectively remove the bad Win2k?

You can just edit the BOOT.INI file as a quick way
go to DOS box (Start > Run > CMD)
CD \ (You MUST be in root folder)
attrib boot.ini -r -s -h (take attribs off the file so you can edit it)
MAKE A COPY FIRST
then
edit boot.ini

You will see various entries but the three that show on the screen will be there in order......
DELETE the offending entry..if it is the second then take out the second entry

SAVE THE FILE

Reboot and check your work

If it is OK go back to the DOS BOX
and reverse the attrib settings

attrib boot.ini +r +s +h

This won't touch anything on the drive just alters the boot options
