Gaming Friendly Router, Does It Exist?

I have tried four routers in the last week, thank God for a 30-day no questions asked return policy at Fry's Electronics, and all four have been a nitemare. All I want is to be able to have my computers connected to a router and for the computers to be not be limited by the firewall implimented in the router. I download a lot, browse lots of websites, and above all play multiple MULTIPLE games online. All four of these routers have given me trouble with certain websites, accessing yahoo mail, and I cannot play online multiplayer with 95% of my games. Without the router I have no such problems. I do not want to have to go into my router's configuration and manually set ports for applications and configure settings for each individual application that the router doesn't like. I know there are a million software based firewalls that are much more configurable than any router I have seen so far but I know of no other way to share a broadband connection between multiple computers. If you suggest a router please include the brand and model number and if you suggest a gaming friendly router can you please name a few games you have had success with. Please help me find a way. Thank you in advance.

What have you tried? I'm using Netgear RP614 and have no problems with it. Played Medal of Honor, Vietcong, Ghost Recon, Neverwinter Nights, Red Faction, Links 2003 couple others.

It only takes couple seconds to forward a port....

Routers

I have tried a Linksys NR041, Linksys BEFSR41, D-Link DI-704P, and a Siemans (unknown model) which I bought for $30. I am currently using the D-Link router as it was the last one that I purchased. I am curious if you have had to forward a specific port for each game you played or if you use one port that seems to be universal for most online gaming? If the port is universal I will just forward that one port. My biggest issue is that I have noway of knowing what ports I need to forward for each application and that this stupid D-Link only allows you to forward a max of 18 ports.

I usually play through Gamespy network. Or sometimes the built in server.

I haven't had to forward a port yet.

The Netgear allows up to 20 ports and has presets for both Half life and Quake 3 built in.

To find the port each game needs, usually can be found on the game developers website.
