Video Drivers from Vista Downgrade to xp

I recently downgraded my new packard bell EASYNOTE MX52-B-011 laptop from vista to xp the moment i got it out the box, all setup went smoothly but one driver ATI Radeon video drivers 8.381.0.0 i have downloaded the drivers fromm the packard bell support site but when i try to install them it says "Setup did not find a driver compatible with your currnt hardware or operating system. Setup will now exit" I Have installed Windows XP Professional SP2 onto the system and have completed all windows updates. Anyone have an idea??

make sure it says on the hp website that the driver you installed is compatible with XP. The drivers for Vista won't work on XP. As far as I can ascertain, all the drivers for that model on the PB international website are only for Vista, so you must have got lucky with the other drivers as XP seems to have installed them from it's own driver library on the XP CD. This is not unusual, but unfortunately the XP CD evidently doesn't contain a driver for your particualr video controller.

The one from PB is definitely only for Vista, as are it's other drivers, hence it doesn't work on XP.

You will either have to do a recovery back to Vista or make do without sound.
