Cannot get internet working after XP reinstall

Okay, after reinstalling windows xp for a different desktop, several necessary drivers are not downloaded. This includes Ethernet Controller, Multimedia Audio Controller, SM Bus Controller, Video Controller and Video Controller (VGA Compatible). If I could access the internet I would simply download these drivers from the Dell support website.

The CD that came with the computer to reinstall the drivers is simply not working.. when I put it in the computer a modem helper installation begins.. and I have Broadband Ethernet Connection and don't know if I even need to install anything the modem helper has to offer.

I have a working ISP ethernet cable plugged into the back of that computer, but I cannot gain access to the internet. Help?

Hi, we need to know whta type of MB you have so go to the link download and install the program and list your hardware specs. http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
You may have to transfer it using a flash drive.

your need the ethernet controller driver to get online ,,then you can download the other drivers..if your stuck i can get the ethernet drivers for you and if you have a friend online,, i can send them.. you just copy then off his pc. came back with your dell pc model .
