i would say..for that price 2 gig ram and 250+ gig hard drive..also graphics card could be better gt range ,,and monitor,, go for good brand ie dell etc. if your in the uk look at ebay website,, you can get top spec amd x2 6000 for £300 and with monitors about 450. and thats with 2 gig ddr2 ram and 300 gig hard drive etc. dont rush in to it..check around ,,,you can get cheaper.

The video card wont really cut it with the new Xmas releases, you need a 7900GT min and what Generator said.

A PC with a Core-duo 2 processor is a really good choice. Its faster than AMD.

intel are exc for multimedia apps and encoding graphics rendering etc...but amd have the edge on gaming..reason being ,,,cheaper cpu,s.. uses less power and run scooler than intel. and most games are optimised for 3dnow technology .but i guess its your choice..if you only play some games and use multimedia apps and graphics for rendering.. get a intel duo core 2 ,as the mmx technology is better..if you a hardcore gamer go for amd.
