ok.. vista to xp.. no sound.. no printer

I had vista that came with the computer, but my internet company wouldn't completly support it so I got xp...Now I have no sound, my printer printes nothing but little symbols.. i for some reason have two printers on my computer and i don't know which to delete.. and somehow when the computer reformated I have a bunch of removable drives that have nothing on them. I have been trying to solve these things for a week now, not sure where to even start. Thanks for any help.
