No Audio Device

My job gave me the laptop of the guy I replaced. It is a Dell latitude D820. I reformatted the hard drive to get his name off the thing. I reinstalled the operating system, but I noticed two things:

1) I get the message "No Sound device" when I try to play a movie on windows media player. And there isn't one when I check in the control panel. So I can't play movies. Maybe I erased the drivers

2) The wireless connection does not work. I tried to troubleshoot this online with and IT person. The error message I get is that Windows can't configure the network and I should go through the manufacturer. I don't know how to do this.

I'd be happy if I could just play movies.

These are the drivers for your model http://support.euro.dell.com/support...atid= &impid=

only one audio diver but 11 network drivers

First I would install the Chipset driver - then Restart your comp - this tells the OS which INF files to load.
then install audio

Everest may give you which network driver is installed, then install from Dell - if not sure just copy and paste the Computer/Summary section
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...-Edition.shtml

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions
