No Audio Device Found

I've just inherited an oldish computer, which has an onboard soundcard. If I go to Control Pannel - Sound and Audio Devices it says No Audio Device. I seem to be unable to find the right driver for my motherboard. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

According to your Everest report, the sound driver is already installed otherwise the device would not be shown (Multimedia:
Audio Adapter VIA AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller). You would also have a yellow question mark against 'Multimedia Device' in Device Manager if the driver wasn't installed, or a red exclamation mark if it was the wrong driver. If the latter is the case (wrong driver) go to this MSI web-page and use the "Live Update Online" feature which will automatically detect the factory-fitted sound device and offer you the correct driver:
http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloadindex

Another possibility is that even though the right driver is correctly installed, the device itself (the sound chip) may have failed. In such cases the solution is to fit a PCI sound-card and disable the on-board chip in the BIOS settings.

Hmm yeah ok, the last thing I did before posting here was install the VIA 4in1 driver for the chipset. Before that it wasn't showing anything on the system report or under device manager apart from the generic windows stuff that didn't work. I must of not been awake enough this morning to notice this had changed after installing the via driver. Anyway, it was showing the AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller with a yellow question mark, so I installed the drivers for that, and it's working fine now.

Thanks for the help
