How do you get the internet to return after a modem reset?

Something that likes to happen every now and then is the slow internet connection that can be fixed by resetting the modem. However, when I do this, I can't access the internet (I keep getting page resets) and so every time I reset my modem, I have to reset my computer, which is a big pain in the @$$ (see this thread for details: http://www.softwaretipsandtricks.com...ml#post139994). So I was wondering if there was some magical program that will allow me to access the internet after a modem reset without having to reset my computer.

Have you tried to update your modem drivers?

And what do you mean by "Modem reset" ?

Try restarting your com

When you restart you modem your computer is still using the old IP Addess. When you reboot your computer gets assigned a new IP Address. Here's a short cut so you won't have to reboot.

Go to your RUN dialog box [START =>RUN].

At the DOS prompt type:

IPCONFIG /RELEASE

After you see the list of STUFF scroll by type:

IPCONFIG /RENEW

at the DOS Prompt type:


EXIT


You should be good to go...Hope this helps.
