Multimedia Sound Controller Problem

My device manager shows a problem with Multimedia Controller. I don't know to what this refers, and haven't been able to fix it. Issue comes up every time I reboot.

Device manager detail:
? Other devices
? Multimedia Audio Controller
Properties:
Device type: Other devices
Manufacturer: Unknown
Location:PCI bus 0, device 30, function 2
Device status:
This device is not configured correctly (Code 1)
To reinstall the driver for this device, click Reinstall Driver

Following through with this doesn't help because I don't know what hardware is creating the problem and therefore don't know how to locate the driver.

System information:
Dell Dimension desktop
2 gig RAM
Audio Codecs
Creative Game Port
Sound, Video and game controllers.
Creative SB Audity 2 ZS (WDM)
E-MU 0404|USB
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Controler Devices
Video codecs

Any help appreciated.

I'm sure that Bookworm, wouldn't agree with my approach hear but to try and help him out he has already created 5 or 6 different threads on this matter. Try and go though the different ones to get an idea of what you need to do!

Unfortunately, I don't know what device is causing the problem. The properties say:
Device Type: Other Devices
Manufacturer: Unknown
Location: PCI bus 0, device 30, function 2
If you can help me find the device type, I'll hunt down the driver!
Thanks.

What is your default audio

Check Control Panel/ Sound & Audio Devices/ Audio tab/ Sound Playback click on
down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.
