Printing / Imaging Software - HELP!

I have installed a program (CD Label Print - Comes with Canon Pixma ip4200 printer) on my home computer.

Installation worked and the program is installed, however - when I go to open it up, it will not go into the actual program, as it recognizes the printer is not connected to the computer (which it isn't - it's on my desk at work!!)

My question is:

Is there anyway I can get into this program, despite actually having the printer plugged into the computer.
I simply want to be able to get into the program to edit some labels, then save them to a flash drive, and take them to work for printing...

Or even, if I were to plug the printer in for the initial time I load the program, then if I were to unplug it, would the program load up a second time?
Or would it give me the same error message that the compatible printer is not connected to the computer?

Because that application is supplied with the printer (I have the same model), it's 'hard coded' to work only when the printer is connected. That's to stop anyone who hasn't actually bought a Canon printer from downloading and using the bundled applications from the Canon website. Understandable in a way, I suppose. Mean perhaps, but understandable from their point of view.

There are alternatives you can download from the WWW. This one, for example, is a free trial and only $10 to buy:

but none of them will be able to open labels you created with 'Canon CD Label Print' unfortunately, so you'll have to create from scratch.
