multimedia audio controller problems

I have a Windows XP Media Center Edition Service Pack 2 (build 2600). My multimedia audio controller stopped working. I really don't know what happened but I was clearing up space on my computer and I had to reboot my computer. It said found new hardware for multimedia audio controller, so I clicked on it and there was an error. it said cannot install. what do i do?

your audio drivers are missing check device manager check the suido and see if theres a yellow question mark.
