I had this problem before, my desktop items had shadows on, the cure which held out for some time was right click desktop>properties>desktop>customize desktop>web (tab) and then unselecting everything, but now doing this once more has not cured my troubles, in the box titled web pages i have one item, which is not selected and is called ''My Current Home Page''. This is not selected and i can also not delete it.
So in conclusion the prevous cure did remove the shadows on text on my desktop items, but this had failed to wor this time around.
Any ideas, cheers in advance!!!!
