I can't open my files

Hello, my name is Juliana and i'm not a native english speaker, so please forgive my english. Last week i found a problem trying to access my user account on windows, after restoring my system, trying to copy the user properties to another, etc. i couldn't log on. A friend of mine managed to access my user account but the files were unaccesible. He formatted the part of the hard disc that had the system files and windows and installed it again, and in the other part he left the files as they were. But they're still unaccesible. He tried putting my disc as slave and thousands of other ways but the files just won't open . How can i unblocked them? i would really appreciate your pacience and hel because all of my work is in those files
