Netzero not working

Hi,
well this is what happend.
I was playing a computer game and was hooked up to the internet to look something up and got off of it. I continued to play the game and then the computer froze and shut down. The computer didn't work until an hour or so later. Now I can't get on the internet. It says it is being used by another program or not found (If netzero users error 797 or 796)

I went to the control panel and checked my modem and it says the modem and the attachment is not present. I have no idea what to do to get back on the internet on my home computer and can only access the internet at school now.

Is that high speed Internet???.....if so, you don't have to look for the modem in Control Panel.....Please provide more details.

It is dial up.
I believe I have a virus because this started when I downloaded a game I got in the mail.
