Just bought a computer which came with XP.

I'm not using it as a server, or in any other way than as a home computer.
I discovered that there seems to be a zillion services running. I don't know
if these services are used in a network serving capacity, but if they are, I'm
assuming that they would most likely be useless to me.

Could these services be stopped, or do they have to be running anyways?
