XP Pro and P2P problems

Have just got XP Pro this week. Am unable to download from any P2P clients I was on with 98SE (soulseek and WinMX).

I have disabled the built in firewall and I have Gigabytes of free disk space, still no downloads will go through.

Any advice will be forever appreciated.

Got the latest versions of soulseek and/or winmx??? Maybe re-install'em?
