Windows xp operation canceled due to restrictions

Hello... My name is lori, I have a hp pavilion vx74! I have recently been having quite a few problems with my computer! My control has been deleted somehow... And i din't do it! And whenever i try to access anything that controls my computer settings a message pops up that says "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on your computer. Contact your system administor. I have no idea whats wrong! If anyone has any idea your help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Perhaps your PC has been hijacked? You use a password?

A bit more information would be helpful.Are there other members of the family using that computer with separate accounts? If so is it only yours that's been modified? I'm presuming that your account is still all there just downgraded from admin status yes?
