No background colors for IE?????

I downloaded a fax program a week ago, and since then IE has no background colors, just white with blue text. The color profile is set to windows colors, but nothing when online. Everything else seems to be fine. Can anyone help with a fix?

What version of IE are you using? Upgrade to 7.

it is 7, and i reset, then reinstalled it

also, I noticed that the text boxes for the icons on my desktop are highlighted, like they are all "clicked"...

fixed! the high contrast box was checked. I unchecked it and problem solved.
