Frustrating - The View Menu on Open File Dialog(XP Pro)

2 quick questions:

When I try to open a file and get the open file dialog box I would like to set the default on the "View Menu" to the details option rather than the list option that it is set to now. It is a pain to have to change that option every time.

Also, is there a registry setting that would change the size of the "Open File Dialog" window.

Thanks a bunch.

which program are you trying to open a file in?

Launch Explorer and on the "View" menu, click "Details".
Click the "Name"column to sort items by names, press and hold down the ley "Ctrl", then quit Explorer by clicking on the "close" icon in the upper right of the screen (don't quit Explorer by clicking Exit in the File menu!).
Release the "Ctrl" ley.
Restart your computer

A Fix

Open a windows "Open file" dialog. Right click on the background area in the file list and arrange icons by name or whatever. Then Control-Click the X (close window) button. When you open the dialog again everything should be fixed.
