can not install xp home version

can not install xp h\v at all during first reboot system hangs up

That can be caused by WAY TOO many things.

What part EXACTLY is hit hanging?
How long do you let it hang?
Is the screen going black, if not, what is on the screen?
Is it a clean install or an upgrade; if upgrade, over what OS?
What kind of computer? Does it need updated drivers BEFORE going to XP?

Answers to these Q's would be a good start.
