No Windows sounds...do get sound in SL

Yesterday I inadvertently stopped some processes in the running processes box. I did a system restore but got a message saying nothing had changed to restore. And I went and got the latest driver from Realtek and installed that. There are no x's in any of my devices in my Device Manager. I do not hear any of the standard Windows sounds nor can I hear any of the sound tests I tried out on the internet.
I play in Second Life and there I CAN use the voice client to listen and talk to friends but I do not hear any of the normal sounds I usually hear. I am at my wits and hope someone can help. I did use that tool I read about here and these are the results.

Red face Found the problem!

It turned out to be a problem in my Sounds and Audios Devices Properties! Under the Audio tab I had the wrong Default devices selected. Talk about feeling blonde....

Even Techs have that problem, we are too busy looking for the most complicated fix we over look the simple things. Glad you found the answer
