No Sound

After reinstalling Windows XP, I do not have any sound except for the computer beeping. My sound system is (was) in my ADVUEU LCD monitor. When I reviewed my "Device Manager," there is a large yellow "?" by "Other Devices" and the sub item "Multimedia Audio Controller." I connected speakers directly to the computer, but there still wasn't any sound.

BeLarc Advisor shows my OS is Windows XP Pro. Svc Pack 2 (build 2600) and my Main Circuit Board is ASUSTek Computer Inc. P4P800 Rev 1.xx.

I know others (from reading past posts) have encountered the same or similiar problems, but the responses I read don't seem to apply directly to my problem(s).

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
