Duplicate Files in My Documents

I read the posts that state that the files in "User-name" Documents and My Documents are not duplicates and that "User-name" Documents is just a shortcut to My Documents. But can someone explain this to me...I have no space on my hard drive left and mainly I just have my music on it. There is no way my drive should be full just from my music and it appears to me that when I add a new music file, it is showing up in triplicate on my computer. I downloaded a music file from iTunes. When I go and look in the folder, there is only ONE music file. But if I do a Search on my whole computer, that file shows up THREE times, all with the same directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music

How can this be?
Thanks
