yet another no-sound problem!

hi guys,
this is my first thread and i'm asking for help (I should be ashamed)
anyway, I just finished installing a fresh copy of window XP SP3 and I have no sound at all..
I installed the required drivers but still no luck..

XP SP3 is still in release candidate stage so I would recommend going back to a system restore point before the install of XP SP3.
If you want to continue, see what we can do.

the problem is that I lost my SP2 CD..
that's what made me install the newer version..
anyway, if I'm out of options, then
I'll just look for one and hope it'll work..
