Is there a green square or a check mark in the box?
I saved this at one time and don't remember where I got it. The implication is that you didn't click the box enough times and that you have to click it once for every file in the folder (to turn the green square into a check mark). I haven't tried this so I don't know what happens if you sit there and click the box over and over again for every file in you "My Documents" folder.
_________
"In most cases, when you open the properties dialog box for a folder, the Read-Only check box will contain a green square. Windows displays the green square in a folder's properties dialog box because it would take too long to check the state of the read-only attribute for every file in the folder. To apply the read-only attribute to the contents of a folder, click the check box until a check mark appears. To clear the attribute, click the check box until it is emply. In both cases, when you leave the dialog box, Windows will ask whether you want to apply your action to subfolders of the selected folder or only to the selected folder's files."
